Dear Pilgrims:

Many people have requested that we recognize and honor Saint Juan Diego by celebrating a Novena in his honor. In the year of 1531, in the Hill of Tepeyac, very near to Mexico City, our Mother, Our Lady of Guadalupe, appeared before Juan Diego and requested that he go before the Bishop, Fr. Juan of Zamarraga, and inform him that Our Lady’s desire was that a temple be built on the spot where she spoke to Juan Diego, saying that from this place, she could oversee and protect all her children from this new nation.

Saint Juan Diego fulfilled the Mother of God’s request, and since then, we pay homage to Our Lady of Guadalupe in her church, the National Basilica of Mexico, as well as anywhere else where her image is displayed, as we pray and ask that she protect all of us.

In this Novena in honor of St. Juan Diego, which extends from December 1 to December 9, we ask that through the intercession of St. Juan Diego, the Good Lord will grant us the grace to practice the simplicity and obedience shown by Juan Diego, and in so doing, we may cooperate in the New Evangelization of this great nation as well as throughout the whole world so that the Blessed Virgin may always bring us the peace and love which only Our Lady of Guadalupe can bring.

May our Good Lord, through the intercession of Saint Juan Diego, reward you and your family abundantly.



Queridos Peregrinos:

Muchas personas me han pedido que reconozcamos y honremos a San Juan Diego, celebrando una Novena en su honor. En el año de 1531 en el Cerro del Tepeyac, muy cercano a la ciudad de México, Nuestra Madre la Virgen Maria de Guadalupe le pidio al indio San Juan Diego que fuera ante el Obispo Fr. Juan de Zumárraga y le diera el mensaje de que su deseo era el de que le construyeran un Templo en ese lugar, para desde ahi cuidar y velar por todos sus hijos de esa nueva Nación.

San Juan Diego cumplió con el encargo de la Madre de Dios y hoy día la veneramos en su Santuario y Basílica Nacional de México, como así mismo en cualquier lugar donde se encuentra su Bendita Imagen para felicidad y protección de todos nosotros.

En esta Novena en honor a San Juan Diego, del 1 al 9 de Diciembre, le pediremos a Dios por medio de su intercesión ante el Señor, que nos dé la gracia de practicar la Sencillez y Obediencia de este nuestro Santo y así cooperemos en la Nueva Evangelización en esta nuestra Nación como asi mismo en todo nuestro mundo para que siempre exista la Paz y el Amor que nos trajera la siempre Virgen María de Guadalupe.

Que nuestro Santo San Juan Diego te premie a tí y a toda tu familia con su intercesión ante el Señor.
