A Special Day of Faith and Unity: April 15 Gathering at the Basilica
The Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan del Valle will host a remarkable event on April 15. This spiritual celebration brings together the northern and southern regions of the Valley under the Diocese of Brownsville for a powerful expression of community and faith.
Elena García, a local organizer, described the day as a “very special moment” that connects not only parishes, but also languages and cultures. “This is a bringing together of all the Catholic churches in our area,” she shared. “What makes it so special is that all the churches come with their priests and community members — it’s truly a sign of unity.”
The Chrism mass will be held at the Basilica and will include a procession reminiscent of a pilgrimage to Tepeyac, inviting all to walk, pray, and reflect as one people of faith.
