We believe in the Resurrection of the body and life everlasting. At the Basilica, we reflect on this cornerstone of our faith with a special novena of Masses leading up to the celebration of Easter. For the early Apostles and Evangelists, the Resurrection wasn’t just important—it was everything. It was the foundation of hope and salvation.
As Saint Paul and Saint Irenaeus taught, the Resurrection confirms that our bodies are destined for glory. In this novena, we remember that our faith is not in vain, and we draw strength from the risen Christ.

Grant, we beseech Thee, O Almighty God, that we who have been renewed by the paschal mystery may, by Thy favor, manifest its power by lives of virtue. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
