5K Through the Basilica Trail Brings Faith, Fitness, and Culture Together
A new event is adding extra excitement to this year’s Día de los Muertos Festival in San Juan! The 5K Through the Basilica Trail invites runners, walkers, and families to experience the scenic path around the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan del Valle in a celebration that honors both life and faith.
Organized in partnership with the City of San Juan, the 5K will highlight the beauty of the Basilica grounds and the unity of the community as part of the larger Día de los Muertos Festival, which brings art, music, and remembrance to the heart of the Rio Grande Valley.
Participants will enjoy a morning of reflection, movement, and connection before joining the festivities in downtown San Juan. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or simply wish to walk in memory of loved ones, this event is a chance to celebrate life’s journey with purpose and gratitude.
