Agnes was born in 291 into Roman nobility and raised as a Christian. She suffered martyrdom on 21 January 304, aged 12 or 13. Her high-ranking suitors, slighted by her resolute devotion to religious purity, sought to persecute her for her beliefs. Her father urged her to deny God, but she refused, and she was dragged naked through the streets to a brothel, then tried and sentenced to death. She was eventually beheaded after attempts to be burned at the stake failed.

Inés nació en el año 291 en el seno de la nobleza romana y fue educada como cristiana. Sufrió el martirio el 21 de enero de 304, a la edad de 12 o 13 años. Sus pretendientes de alto rango, despreciados por su resuelta devoción a la pureza religiosa, trataron de perseguirla por sus creencias. Su padre la instó que negara a Dios, pero ella se negó, y la arrastraron desnuda por las calles hasta un burdel, donde luego la juzgaron y la condenaron a muerte. Finalmente fue decapitada después de que fracasaran los intentos de ser quemada en la hoguera.
