Joan was born to a propertied peasant family at Domremy in northeast France. She was delivered and tied to a tall, plastered pillar for burning execution. She asked to view a cross as she died, and was given one by an English soldier made from a stick, which she kissed and placed next to her chest. She embraced it before her hands were bound, and it was held before her eyes during her execution. After her death, her remains were thrown into the Seine River.

Juana nació en el seno de una familia de campesinos en Domremy, en el noreste de Francia. Fue entregada y atada a un pilar alto y enyesado para la ejecución en llamas.
