Isabel became a postulant after she turned seventeen and was known amongst her peers for her obedient and silent nature. Isabel also developed a reputation as a hard worker who was contemplative. The Spanish Civil War saw her imprisoned, and anti-religious forces attempted to force her to renounce her faith and subscribe to their regime. Isabel refused to do so and was beaten to death since her captors decided not to shoot her like others had been executed.

Isabel se convirtió en postulante después de cumplir diecisiete años y era conocida entre sus compañeros por su naturaleza obediente y silenciosa, pero también desarrolló una reputación como una trabajadora ardua que era contemplativa. La Guerra Civil Española la llevó a ser encarcelada, y fuerzas antirreligiosas intentaron forzarla a renunciar a su fe y suscribirse a su régimen. Isabel se negó a hacerlo y fue golpeada hasta la muerte, ya que sus captores decidieron no dispararle como a otros que habían sido ejecutados.
